MCO GO: the inception and the evolution

Today We have the pleasure to talk about our new Oil monitoring system - MCO GO, the latest solution that PIUSI released for the garage equipment business.

The inception and the evolution

In the years PIUSI have traced the path for those kind of systems, in 1996 when the first MCO was released the spread of oil monitoring systems was at its start but we were strongly convinced that this necessity would have been more and more important in the following period.

17 years later there were 5 main providers, including PIUSI, of those solutions, plus a number of local manufacturers that developed different country based systems, available on the market.

The features of all were roughly the same:

  • oil transactions tracking,
  • tank levels indication,
  • data export and little else.

Even the installation/infrastructure was so similar, everything wired, a lot of cables involved and a number of hours to be spent to setup the systems. Some pioneers experienced radio technologies but with probably more headaches than benefits, the wireless world in the 2000s was vastly different from now.

In 2013 we knew it was the right time to think about something new, our MCO system was one of the first born and its architecture needed to be upgraded, we had the choice to where to address our development: continue to provide the same limited amount of features migrating on a more modern technology or re-think about the entire workshop operating workflow.

Evolution vs Revolution

We visited a number of garages all over the world, from the smallest to the more complex, seeking for informations, modus operandi, habits, until we noticed an inefficiency common to all: regardless of the management system used (or not used) by the dealership, operators and mechanics use written notes to track work orders: a time-consuming and prone to errors practice.

The idea was there, try to cover the missing layer that exists in between the office and the garage, but how?

With a complete garage management system that allows to track any single operation that can happen inside a workshop, from an oil change to a body repair. A system able to run as a small DMS dealer management system for the businesses that are not equipped with or that can be fully integrated with one of them.

Everything built on an infrastructure, LAN or Wi-Fi, that can take advantage of the existing local network without the need to create an ad-hoc one.

It was 2015 and the MCO 2.0 was born (see presentation here https://youtu.be/uGtAz0uUuuI and product info and video here https://www.piusi.com/products/mco-2-0).

Mco go piusi

Now 5 years are passed and again for PIUSI it’s time to introduce something disruptive in this market.

The idea behind MCO GO is to try to provide a system that can be suitable for everyone, no matter how small or big is the workshop, no matter how many oil changes are performed during the year rather than the number of operators that are working in, MCO GO can fit it.

We are so exited about this new product as its development is 100% based on hundreds of feedbacks that we’ve received from our partners and from the end users. We can assure that there is nothing on the market as easy as it is, nothing at all, this system has been developed to be a solution applicable to any kind of workshop or garage.

This Oil monitoring system has been designed to satisfy the unique and most important requirement of any garage, track the oil change transactions, nothing more rather than that.

MCO GO simplicity can be greatly valued both in retrofitting existing workshops and in new installations, the time saving during all the system setup is incomparable. It’s enough to place a GPV 2.0 each reel and a Control Unit that manage them, all connected using standard and common LAN cables, but without the necessity of a network.

The key points are:

  • No network or infrastructure required, it can be installed without any IT skill
  • No configuration needed, just follow the step by step procedure directly on the screen of the Control Unit
  • No software required
  • No limit in the number of users
  • No limit in the number of reels that is possible to manage (up to 6 each Control Unit)
  • Ready to be customised with the dealership logo
  • Ready to export any information that you require
  • Thanks to the GPV2.0 valve/meter it is compatible with lubricants, diesel, adblue/def, antifreeze, windscreen and any other fluid you require

We organise weekly dedicated webinars on the system and on all our lubrication range, feel free to contact us anytime.
