1. FOUNDATION AND NAME

PIUSI was founded in 1953 by Engineer Franco Varini. Originally, its name wasn’t PIUSI – pumps for MANY USES (PIU’ - USI) – but O.M.A.A. This was an Italian acronym for “Mechanical Workshop for Agricultural Applications”. The agricultural sector has always been at the heart of PIUSI’s expertise from the beginning: the first product ever developed by the Company was a PTO pump for tractor washing.

2. PRODUCTS

Before becoming a leader in the diesel transfer pump sector, PIUSI pumps were perfected for various other uses, such as washing, as these images testify:

During its first years of activity, PIUSI also began the production of some equipment completely outside the fuel transfer field and was really very different from the current equipment our customers know and love today.

3. EXPORT

Today, PIUSI is well-known throughout the world, with a presence in 135 countries. The first country in which O.M.A.A. had exported its products was the United Kingdom; specifically, to the city of London.

4. US BRANCH

PIUSI also has a presence in the United States, with a branch based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The US Company was founded in 2009 and began its activities on September 16th of that year. It serves all of the Western Hemisphere.

5. STRONG GROWTH
