It can occur, during a regular working situation, that when the system is stopped some fluid leakage can occur. Such is the case of a fuel or diesel tank with a shut off pump and a dispensing tube badly positioned or on the ground, for example. Thanks to the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid within the tank, it could be emptied.
Thus, many tank producers and users choose to install an anti-siphon system that interacts with this physical property of the fluid and works as a vacuum breaker to prevent leakage.

As for any external structure, it is important that the anti-siphon is well suited to the system. Thus, PIUSI has equipped its main fuel transfer pumps – for potentially explosive atmosphere – EX50, EX100, EX140 with an integrated connection to the anti-siphon circuit. A predisposition fully integrated in the pump body that is compatible with all anti-siphon structures available on the market. In this way, it is not necessary to add to the pump any external mechanism that can represent a “weak point” in the system.
At the same time, PIUSI has developed for all other fuel pumps – for example Panther, E80/120/140 – dedicated kits, fully produced and certified by PIUSI, for connection to anti-siphon systems. In this way, the Company guarantees a predisposition, sold as a kit, that is 100% compatible with its pumps.
